Every project begins with an in-person consultation and site analysis. We take the time to understand how your future landscape will support your lifestyle and experience.

This establishes a framework where future decisions are both functional and true to the aesthetic vision.

A site analysis involves a detailed evaluation of site conditions to fully understand the landscape as it currently exists. From this, we develop a master plan that outlines the property’s spatial organization, material choices, and planting design. Ongoing dialogue and collaboration with our clients ensure the design intent is carried through at every stage of the project.

Our starting point

A forest scene during fall with trees displaying yellow, orange, and green leaves, sunlight filtering through the canopy, and thick foliage on the forest floor.

Profoundly inspired by the Hudson River Valley and Catskill region,

our local awareness allows us to create spaces that are visually stunning, supportive of local ecosystems,

and resilient to local environmental challenges.

Design process

A landscape design plan showing house layout, trees, and garden areas along with three photos of lush garden scenes with greenery, trees, flowers, and garden pathways.
Side-by-side landscape architectural plans for two driveway garden options. Each plan shows a house, driveway, parking area, garage, garden with pea gravel, boulders, rustic steps, and walkway details.
A hand-drawn landscape plan featuring pathways, green plants, and structures, with color-coded areas and directional markings.

We design by hand as much as possible. Digital tools are important to the process, but sketching allows for spontaneity that best captures the energy of a future landscape.

Before installation begins, we lay out planting areas, stake tree locations and map areas for hardscaping. This helps form a cohesive understanding of garden zone proportions and interconnectedness of the property.
